1 Denim Shirt, 5 Ways To Wear It

Much as I love shopping and having new things, I also think it's such a waste to wear a garment once or twice and then leave it to languish at the bottom of a wardrobe. I'm  sadly not rich enough to buy ultra cheap stuff that will fall apart after the first wash (Asian online shops and Primark, I mean you) or be dressed head to toe in very expensive stuff that I cannot afford. As a result my wardrobe is a healthy mix of high street and a few designer investment pieces. I love to wear and re-wear and to breathe new life in old garments by changing the accessories and shoes around.
I have decided to start a new blog series in which I can show you how to wear one item of clothing in several different ways. And because I hate repeating the content, one outfit out of  5 will always be new, not seen before look.
First up is a humble denim shirt. I bought it on ASOS around 2 years ago and it's one of those things that just gets better with age. It's a casual staple that can be dressed up or down and I like to wear it with both trousers and skirts.
I wore it most recently with striped midi skirt and lace up Zara heels (Shoes are surprisingly comfortable. If you like both your heels and comfort, I cannot recommend these enough.).
I even painted my nails black and white to match the skirt. :D

I wore:
Lace up heels: Zara
Skirt: ASOS
Denim shirt: ASOS
Clutch: Accesorize
Rings: Made
Retro sunnies: Jeepers Peepers
Brooch: Johnny Loves Rosie
I wore the same denim shirt previously with midi skirts. First is a more dressy outfit with sequined Ashish skirt and a statement necklace. Perfect for going out for dinner or drinks. The second look is perhaps more of a day look and suitable for work. Tartan skirt is by ASOS again and the bag is Luella.
I also doubled up on denim by teaming up the shirt with jeans. First look is more contemporary with same tone denim and flashes of red, while the second look is very retro 70s with flared jeans in darker wash and brown leather accessories.
There you have it. I really hope you like this new blog feature.

This is a great idea!! and you choose the perfect item to start these series. A chambray shirt is a must in every fashionista's wardrobe and you look great in yours. I always loved the way blue chambray looks with black and white.

Meni je baš drago da vidim kako se jedan isti komad uklapa u različite kombinacije, u tome je valjda i poenta, a ne
nositi u svakom postu nove stvari.
Broš me je oduševio <3

I recognise all the previous four looks and love the most recent look too. You look good in the denim shirt and you always tuck in which is something I don't do as I don't like to feel restricted around the waist (prevents good eating). Do I have a favourite? It's very close between the denim flares and that gorgeous red tartan skirt.

And I particularly love the idea of re-wearing the same item in different guises - it's good to see what we can actually get from one piece of clothing. It's too easy to show new and exciting things sometimes and then the old favourites get forgotten. Besides I have a budget too.

I just discovered your blog via your linking up at Visible Monday - you have wonderful style! I like this idea of showing a piece styled different ways, and that red coat is awesome!

I love a denim shirt because it is so versatile. All five looks are great. I do love the striped skirt and the red tartan skirt. That length is just so feminine.

Isn't it great how the cut of a skirt can make or break an outfit? How different that striped skirt would read if it was a pencil skirt? I envy this look a lot because I am short-waisted and have a *itch of a time trying to tuck. Belts help, but they're tricky too. Nice to see it done well. And the shoes are enviable ... such a great ballet-gillies vibe with the glory of a heel!
Thank you for posting this ... good to see.

Yep, I'm a fan of this new feature.

Love the first look with those glasses and the heels. Perfect. The Ashish look is my favorite. So quirky. My mom really likes the denim on denim with the red coat (she's right next to me :)). Love your black and white nails too. I'm totally giving this a try soon.

I love how you matched your nails to the skirt. Sometimes I see cheap clothes and buy them because they look pretty and the price is cheap but after a few washes it ages the clothes so much. So I agree its great to purchase quality items over quantity.
