Something New

I love candles and if it was up to me, I would bring in a decree which would make it obligatory to burn smelly candles in all public places. By smelly I don't mean foul smelling, but lovely, fresh, scented kind of smelly. My favourites are Diptyque candles, but alas my bank balance doesn't always stretch to them so I'm always on a lookout for alternatives too. After hearing everyone and their mother rave about Yankee Candle I took a plunge and ordered 2 jars expecting great things. Well, I have no idea what all the hype is about...they're just not that great and certainly not a patch on Diptyque. After burning them for a while, I could barely smell them and I have a great nose even if I do say so myself. :D
I also bought 2 tins of Lily Flame candles. I bought one of their candles on ASOS (I think) quite a while back and really loved it so I bought two more flavours to see how I get on. I have to say they're really lovely. Great choice of scents that really linger in the air making my whole house fragrant. The candles come in really cute tins that look great on my bedside table. I can't wait to try some more. Plus, it's a small British company and I do like to support those.
I also bought white slouchy Zara sweater... It's made of mulberry silk and cotton and it's both light and warm so perfect for transitional weather that we are (still!!!) having in England. It feels wonderful on the skin...like the lightest puff of cloud and I've been wearing it a lot.
Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend.

    1. @Akiko, yes it's a small English brand. I don't think they sell in USA.

  3. they sell Yankee Candle goodies in some Estonian stores too but gosh, those prices are insane! or actually way too insane for a candle.
btw, I'm also a fan of scented candles and we have an Estonian company called JOIK which has AMAZING cented candles and for example nelly.com sells JOIK's stuff if you're interested in checking those out sometimes ;)

  4. I adore candles. I have never treated myself to a Diptyque but my mum just got given 3 mini ones as a gift so delighted to be able to smell them in our house! The jumper looks lovely, I need a few similar pieces myself with this weather!

  8. Baš izgledaju cakano i nenametljivo (ja ne volim one sveće što guše),
a džemperak deluje vrlo lagano i udobno.

  13. I really like the Lilyflame candles - I didn't even know the brand name but I first came across them in a John Lewis quite a few years ago and I remember buying the coffee scented one - I liked the idea of having a lovely warming coffee scent wafting through the house.

I'll now have to do a trawl through the Zara site to see which white jumper you got .... can't resist white knitwear.
