Considering the high demand, I was incredibly lucky to have gotten the tickets to both the Olympic Games and the Paralympics. In the Olympics I watched women's volleyball final and yesterday I watched the paralympic athletics at the AMAZING Olympic Stadium in Stratford. Everyone was on such a high and it made for a superb atmosphere. The deafening roar of the 80 000 people cheering on the athletes was quite something. There were so many moments to cherish forever....the crowd chanting Jonnie Peacock's name as he took gold in men's 100m final beating a great Oscar Pistorius , the whole stadium cheering Brazil's Nascimento as he crossed the finish line with great difficulty and hobbling following an injury during the race, Britain winnning LOTS of medals, etc... In many ways, Paralympic made for a better and more emotional viewing for me. It's such a cliche but it really is a testament to human spirit and incredibly hard work that those athletes put in.
The icing on the cake was a chance meeting with Croatian paralympians at the end of my day (I'm Croatian) and a little chat I had with them.
I wouldn't have changed my day yesterday for anything.
Here are some more photos...both of my outfit and a few from the stadium...
I wore:
Top-Zara
Maxi skirt-ASOS
Trainers-Converse All Stars
Bracelet-Gorjana
Ring-from Morocco
